Having recently completed the epic Cinematic for “Need for Speed : Hot Pursuit”, EA Games came back to Framestore Digital for the opening section of the current #1 console game Crysis 2. Utilising a mixture of stock footage, shot material and graphic design we put together a disorientating mix of news reports setting the scene for an alien invasion of New York City. We spent an agonising number of hours with the amazing crew at Associated Press Archive finding the perfect raw materials. Added to this was the design of some New York style cable channels, and then even briefing our own Framestore New York office to charge around downtown Manhattan in a panic with their 5D!
The final ingredient to this heady brew was the magnificent opportunity to add music by the legendary Hans Zimmer.
